Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information

CHIYODAGUMI CORPORATION and its affiliated companies (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) recognize the importance of protecting the personal information of our customers, comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the “Personal Information Protection Act”) and the following Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Policy”), and strive to handle and protect personal information in an appropriate manner.

  3. When it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the customer
  4. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or a person entrusted by either of the foregoing in executing affairs stipulated by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the customer is likely to impede the execution of such affairs.

Proper Acquisition of Personal Information

The Company will acquire personal information properly and will not acquire such information through deception or other wrongful means.

Safe Management of Personal Information

The Company will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over its employees to ensure the safe management of personal information to prevent risks such as loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage of personal information.In addition, in the event that the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information, the Company will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure the safe management of personal information at the outsourced company.

Provision to Third Parties

The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the customer, except in cases where disclosure is permitted under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.However, the following cases do not fall under the provision of personal information to third parties as set forth above.

  1. When personal information is provided in conjunction with the outsourcing of all or part of the handling of personal information by the Company within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
  2. When personal information is provided in conjunction with the succession of business due to a merger or other reasons.
  3. When personal information is used jointly pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Disclosure of Personal Information

When a customer requests the disclosure of personal information pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company will disclose the information to the customer without delay after confirming that the request is made by the customer himself/herself (if such personal information does not exist, the Company will notify the customer to that effect).However, this does not apply in cases where the Company is not obligated to disclose such information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.

Correction, Etc. of Personal Information

When a customer requests the correction, addition, or deletion (hereinafter referred to as the “Correction, etc.”) of the content of personal information pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act on the grounds that the personal information is not true, the Company will, after confirming that the request is made by the customer himself/herself, conduct the necessary investigation without delay to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use. Based on the results of the necessary investigation, the Company will conduct the Correction, etc. of the content of the personal information and notify the customer to that effect (if the Company decides not to conduct the Correction, etc., the Company will notify the customer to that effect).However, this does not apply in cases where the Company is not obligated to conduct the Correction, etc. under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.

Suspension of Use, Etc. of Personal Information

In the event that the Company is requested by a customer to suspend the use of or erase the customer’s personal information (hereinafter referred to as the “Suspension of Use, etc.”) pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, on the grounds that the customer’s personal information is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use announced in advance, or on the grounds that the personal information was acquired through deception or other wrongful means, and if it is found that there is a reason for the request, the Company will conduct the Suspension of Use, etc. of the personal information without delay after confirming that the request is made by the customer himself/herself, and notify the customer to that effect.However, this does not apply in cases where the Company is not obligated to conduct the Suspension of Use, etc. of personal information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.

The Company’s services may use cookies and similar technologies.These technologies help the Company to understand the use state, etc. of the Company’s services and contribute to the improvement of the services.Users who wish to disable cookies can disable cookies by changing the settings of the Web browser.However, if you disable cookies, you may not be able to use some of the functions of the Company’s services.
